What good is this thing without the tritium vials???????? Nice idea but poor thinking of selling this not completed with all the parts. I was ready to hit buy until I seen that it does not include the isotope sticks

carlthess50As Tritium is radioactive it is regulated strictly by the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission. The NRC requires "any person to have a license to manufacture, process or produce products containing tritium." The manufacturer would need a licence in order to sell this with tritium vials, however that is a lengthy and complicated process. This is why you wont find any fobs that come with Tritium vials, and they will have to be purchased separately through a licenced retailer .

SKOZ1911The work around for the company is to buy them from a licensed company and provide the proper documentation with their product and they can sell it with it with using the government number that’s provided for the manufacturers of the vials of luminous
carlthess50Unfortunately there is no licensed company in the US that can sell just the vials to the best of my knowledge. The NRC has an issue with selling tritium for (what they call) "frivolous" purposes, and they classify these types of applications as such. No way around it.

TECENGSo people that buy this are SOL on getting them as well. So why even sell it if we the customer can’t get them. Remove them from massdrop ASAP
carlthess50It's not that you cannot buy tritium vials, you just cannot buy them from a US based source that is not licensed (a license which is virtually impossible to get for "locators"). There are a number of companies selling tritium from overseas, several are mentioned the the threads below. And BTW, it is not illegal to own tritium vials.
