Well, I thought that I wanted the gunmetal but I ended up going with black as it just looks slick. I hope that it's not super susceptible to scratches; I assume it would be possible to scratch through the black finish unlike the other two aluminum options. Will have to remember to keep keys/coins/knives out of that pocket. Guess I still have 6 days to change my mind if anyone who owns the black aluminum would like to comment on the durability of its finish.

LateralusI own the black aluminum. So far I do not have any scratches. I believe it is anodized (maybe hard anodized even). I've had it scratched before by my keys etc. I managed to just rub it and realized it wasn't scratched at all. However if you plan to keep hard items that will be in contact with the wallet then I'm sure it'll scratch eventually. I keep mine usually in my pocket by itself, but occasionally have keys or other items in there. It should be fine I think if it's not too heavily roughed. I have the Polycarbonate as well, and that scratched like crazy loll.
