You guys are way over thinking this! It's cool, it works! I use my pair regularly for loads around 200lbs for camping and other things and carry them when I'm hiking in the hills if In case I ever ended up need haul myself or someone else up a hill in an emergency. Don't compare it with climbing gear or other things it's not, just buy it and enjoy it for what it is if you want it. The main sell point here I think is that it's extremely well made and fully up to a lifetime of light duty jobs and has many uses. Matter of fact, we rented a house and the cheap aluminum door came off the track (with a little help from the car hitting it) and I was actually able to partially disassemble and rehang the door and cables with a couple PBs and a leatherman! Not one sing other tool or any help except a a garden hose I used as a rope to hold it up after the PBs tensioned the cable and went back to work as wrenches, Now that's what I'm Talkin About! :-)
