I'm really undecided: I want to buy the P1 but I really like the bass, and I read reviews about the P1 that their bass is like the T2 and the T3 which means the bass is weak ... because I have the t2 .... so I'm debating whether to buy the P1 or the BGVO DM6 ???

DudiflugWhile they are close to double the cost, the bass in the FiiO FH5's is amazing. Detailed and crisp.

Dudiflughttps://www.audiophileon.com/news/tin-hifi-p1-review This reviewer says: I had someone ask about these or the DM6 and in my opinion its these every single time. As far as I am concerned the 2 aren’t even in the same dimension.

DudiflugI really like the bass on the DM6. Strong and deep. Cannot understand what others are listening and what their criteria for bass is but DM6 gives me that WOW effect every time. BGGAR says DM7 is even better, but i dont have it and cannot say, but i vouch for the DM6 with foam tips ofc. For reff. i find the Tin T2 and T3 with less bass than DM6, and T3 is a treble heavy compared to DM6. As i see ppl saying this and that, and when i personally compare the IEM i can say, that there is maybe a build mismatching or something to the DM6 cuz someone say they are treble cannons, of which i say bullshit, and others say they are bass light - something i cannot accept at all. Somewhat controversial i would say but my pairs are solid!

DudiflugMan you guys are way too used to bass-y headphones/IEMs lol. For me I personally think T2 bass is fine. You don't need boosted bass. Natural bass is still bass. But that's just a personal preference. I can appreciate bass-y cans especially for the right music. That being said T2 by definition I would agree probably has "less" bass than most but that's just because it's in the nature of neutral sound signature. But to me that just means that music that's meant to have bass will have it. I don't particularly think you need one that increases it. I feel EQ should satisfy that need. But nothing is wrong or right so the best thing would be to try and find a way to try them out or find comparison videos/reviews. All that aside, for 149 these are pretty great considering they're planar IEMs. That's the thing with Tin Hifi. For neutral lovers (well and high treble with the T2 pros) it's more about the fact you're getting A LOT for the price you're spending. Better will always exist if you're willing to spend the money but the Tin lineup has been a pretty good baseline as far as reasonably priced but more bang for your buck. As you said though, if you really love bass (I would assume meaning you listen to mostly bass heavy music) Tin may not be the way to go. That being said there has been the vent mod you can do by taping the front (not back) ventilation hole. I haven't done it myself but supposedly this is the release for the bass (I assume the air pressure produced) so by plugging it you can, apparently, increase the bass. I would assume you could do the same to the P1s.

DudiflugThe bass is not weak just fast, its not for bassheads, consider the TFZ no.3 instead.

DudiflugEDIT: Sorry, I had mistakenly written "T2" instead of "T2 pro" - now corrected: I have the T2 pro, and the DM6. Although I love the DM6 for certain things, the T2 pro are much more accurate and enjoyable if driven enough and with a bit of a bass boost. I accomplish this with a FiiO Q5 (older model) with the gain switch and bass boost switches on. This blows the DM6 out of the water! Much greater accuracy, and still the sound is nothing like sterile or "audiophile" in the analytical sense of the word. Very musical performance. I love it for acoustic guitars, vocals, pop, rock, classical.... So I figure the P1 (when they arrive) will please me at least as much in this combo, and potentially a lot better. DM6, by comparison, is much "busier" throughout, and certain frequencies get on my nerves (some in the treble, some in the mids) on certain songs, or sound a bit off, as in not real. I know this is not a professional way of putting it, but maybe it will help you somehow.

DudiflugEDIT: Sorry, I made a mistake: I was speaking of the T2 pro, not the T2 (now corrected above). I got mixed up because I first bought the T2 and sent it back, then got the T2 pro. At any rate, thanks for sharing your opinion. I guess that just confirms that personal preferences differ. Did you run the P2 with a FiiO Q5, with the gain and bass boost switched on????? That's how I ran the T2, and how I'm running the T2 pro now.

bloodpigHad the DM7 and sold them after trialing for an hour. Prefer the DM6. The DM7 had an upper-mid lift that displeased me on several tracks, even on something as "normal" as Fleetwood Mac's "Monday Morning" (not a great recording, but the drums can either keep the beat in a signature way or else stick out like a sore thumb, and the latter is what happened with the DM7). Also found certain vocals too forward in the upper mids. And I was missing a bit of the air on the DM6. Swapping the supplied cable against a better one improved the treble a wee bit, but not enough to match the DM6. Honestly, I never really tried to compare the bass on the two. The DM7 turned me off too fast to want to do that. But since I didn't overtly notice a difference up front, I'd say they are both similar in the bass. Maybe the DM7's bass might seem a bit more "there" because of less air, hence less masking.
