verifonixI will never pick up the Blon’s over these for metal. I will sometimes pick these up over the blons for hip hop. I’m not saying these are better but... clearly they’re better for me.

BykovovichThe T2+ tuning is really quite different sounding compared to the BL03, and it’s a matter of preference, mood, music genre, etc. If you want a lot of bass, the BL03 is the way to go. The timbral accuracy is also a bit more natural on BL03 as well. The T2+ treble has a bit of a splashy quality, but it is well extended. I think the BL03 and T2+ are actually quite complementary, rather than competitive. The T2+, however, is a lot more technically competent IMO. Detail retrieval, clarity, resolution, transient response, bass definition are all notably better to me on the T2+. Build quality is also a lot better on the T2+, and it will fit most people better than the BL03 I think. For $50 or less, I consider the T2+ a bit of a no-brainer.

joeftanI also think the T2+ is a no brainer and they are indeed complimentary vs competitive. Though, from a perspective of the type of metal we are talking about, I will argue the T2+ sounds much more natural than the 03. 70’s metal, yes. Pick up the 03. The wall of sound that is the disgusting gutterals and tunnel throats of Shrine of Malice... the 03 falls apart in such a spectacular way that you’d say it’s actually worth it’s price.
