RupertVonHentzauThe denim is sanforized. You can expect the waist to open up to 1 inch during break in and they will shrink up to this much during washing. The best course of action is to measure your waist and refer to the size chart. Generally a size 35 measurement is actually a size 33 and 36 a 34.
