The last one of these I owned lasted for about 5 years (of almost continuous usage) before the pump failed. Upon failure, muffled quiet crackling sounds and CPU temps pinned at 100C indicated that coolant boil-off was preventing a further increase in temps. Replaced with air cooling at the time since I don't run a very intense overclock, but if you want to push further I do still believe closed-loop water coolers like this one are the right solution. Just... might be worth setting a BIOS CPU temp alarm if available, or at least a background temp monitoring service for whichever OS you use. It took me a while to realize the pump had failed at all, since at first I thought the strange sounds were from a cable hitting a fan.
