Complaint... I don't like that MD allows some makers to use them as outlets, rather than for true drops. In this case, ULA is having a sale for the exact same price, and the timing of the sale and drop indicate that MD is just being used as would any ULA retailer. I'd rather see ULA have the sale, then drop remaining product below the sale price if they still have some to sell. And I'd rather MD be on top of that sort of thing, to ensure drops are actually drops.

scopeThese weren't on sale at the ULA website. They DO have a deals section where last year's Catalyst is on sale for the drop price but only in the woodland camo which isn't an option in the drop. This year's model is still listed at $260.

scopeI agree. Also massdrop should ship this. ULA are charging $62 shipping.

rcnapYou're right, my bad. Got confused because there is a ULA sale that I got notice of, but its specific to another site - missed that little detail. Its less on that site than here on MD, though, so I kinda feel like my complaint is still valid.

JoekenULA charges a std $10 to ship any pack. If you're saying ULA is charging a non-std fee to ship to you, then I'm quite sure MD would be comparable or more. You can access this site from anywhere, of course, but its still a US-based site where a std shipping fee is limited to the std area it serves.

scopeYes I am overseas so it is a non-standard rate. However, Massdrop are charging $12 for shipping for the Massdrop x Granite Gear Crown X60 (~2.5lb) and $27 for the Mystery Ranch Glacier Backpack (5.9lb). So not really "comparable or more". I would be purchasing a lot more items off Massdrop if it wasn't for vendor shipping costs.

tblackerShipping cost to me in Southern Ontario, Canada is $40.00 USD, which converts to approx $52.00 CAD. So yes, the shipping charge negates the value of Massdrop savings - therefore no incentive to buy....

tblackerMeant comparable or more to what ULA was charging. Shipping is mostly a pass along charge, so I'm not getting you all's point. Its a US based site. Are they supposed to negotiate a "dropped" rate with shippers also? Understood you all would buy more from MD if their non-std rates were lower. Heck, I'd buy more if their std rates were lower. I'm sure MD is noting how many of you are accessing this site from outside the US and is likely trying to work on something. Perhaps then, there's value in your complaints. Still seems a bit silly to me.

scopeMassdrop is an outlet. Period. It's a place for a manufacturer/business to drop prices and get off a bunch of product quick using Massdrop as the middle-man to do so. That's basically the very definition of the "outlet". And, I see no sale on the ULA website at all.
