The 'soft insole' mentioned in the product description is the small piece of leather on top of jute midsole pictured or is it a removable layer not shown in pictures?

red_devilThanks for catching this! The piece of leather at the heel is just all there is to it, besides of course the classic jute midsole. We will update the copy to reflect that.

TomasVThanks Thomas. Additional questions - you seem to have experience with wearing espadrilles. How comfortable is it for your feet which are essentially on the jute directly? Also how flexible is the jute midsole?

red_devilThanks for your interest in this drop!
Jute midsoles are surprisingly comfortable to wear all day. The jute portion of an espadrille is really where most of the craft behind the shoe is. It's almost like wearing a natural version of those ergonomic insoles a lot of us put inside shoes to make them more comfortable. Most folks in our office who had never tried on jute midsoles (or even espadrilles altogether) said they felt even better than the leather cushioned midsole from the Barcelonas (our previous drop with Viscata).
In terms of flexibility, since the midsole is attached to a rubber sole it is flexible within reason, but not super bendy or anything of the sort.

TomasVAnother question for a more experienced espadrille wearer: My feet are E wide, are these roomy enough D's or conforming enough to accommodate moderately wide feet?

MDDogeWith moderately wide feet I'd say you're safe to go with these. They definitely have some give width-wise for your E feet to offer enough comfort as you break them in.

TomasVHi Tomas, it seems the comments say this drop runs big while the listing says the shoes run a bit small, what should I go for? I wear a size 10D for sperries which also stretch like espadrilles do. Thanks!
