so do these store the caps secure enough you can tilt the case more than 2 degrees without having every single cap slide around, stack up on neighboring caps or just flip over making a complete mess out of everything like the JTK cases do?

Probably not - if the case is deep enough to handle SA R1 then there's room to move. And unless there's either mounting posts (which reduces flexibility) or foam or silicone on the sides to stop movement, the keys will slide. Your best bet would probably be to buy some 1mm foam and insert it to create the snug fit you'd want. Don't try and line the sides (the top and bottom of each "trench"); instead cut it slightly wider than the base of the trench so that when you push it the bottom of the trench that there's 1-2mm sticking up the sides on the top and bottom of the trench that would make for a snug fit. That should work for most keys; artisans with non-standard shapes would require a different approach, but you'd probably want a smaller case for those so that you can show them off. Hope this helps.
