Price differences asside, My Zojirushi mug is honestly the best mug i've ever owned. It keeps your drinks warm for such a long time that I honestly stopped using it for things like work unless I keep a second cup at work to pour it into. Otherwise you'll be scalding your mouth on that coffee you made at 7am, even after you returned home from an 8-10 hour shift. You could alternatively add maybe half an ice cube (or more if you're into that kind of stuff) so that it cools down to a drinkable temp.
Cleaning isnt too difficult, but you're not going to be cleaning it with a sponge. You need a bottle brush to get in there. The lid breaks down into 3-4 peices thats easy to take appart and put together.

PuppetThis is correct, 6 hours is definitely a minimum time for hot drinks. Not sure for cold. I've made coffee at 6AM and at 3PM it's still fairly hot.
@Puppet What do you do to clean the rubber pieces of the headpiece? I am having trouble getting coffee smell out and can't find a way to get these pieces clean. I've tried soaking them in dawn, but that doesn't work.

SimielI take the rubber ring off and make sure I'm cleaning the divot on the inside that might hold a drop or so of liquid. As for the top rubber bit, standard hot water and soap usually does it . My roommate was not taking his rubber ring under the cap off to clean and he noticed a smell.
I have to say that the only thing I use mine for is coffee so I haven't run across this as a problem to be honest. I can understand the rubber seal holding A slight scent of coffee but for me it goes unnoticed since that's what's always I'm the mug in the first place.

SimielFor stuff like silicone gaskets you can try soaking in a water and baking soda slurry. I have done this with a dry sack that had gotten smelly and it got the smell out.
