My home office with the Qwertykeys QK65 and a view of the front of the house, where I hope to spot the Amazon delivery truck before my dogs start barking.
Despite the messiness of the desk, it's the place I've made for myself at home to be home.
The Drop + Chasing Deskmat is the only Drop product I have, but it's well worth it. It's well made, the...

Still very much a work in progress, probably always will be and that's okay. Despite having a USB switch, I like having two mice and keyboards for my work and home computers.
Niiiice, okay, that's great to know, thank you. 🙏 My lens is a 50mm, 75mm equivalent as well. When I wanted to get the whole desk in the shot I couldn't back up far enough, haha. Will definitely be playing around with some different framing closer to what you've posted here. 👌

Good call on the delay, that works too.
I'm using an old Nikon D90 with a 50mm lens. Since it's not a full-frame camera, it's the equivalent of 75mm according to the metadata. I was indeed quite backed up in the room lol.
I had natural lighting from the window for this one, ISO-200, 1 second exposure, f/10.

That's what I typically do for macro shots, setup on the tripod with super low ISO and take 1-3 second exposures. I've had mixed results with the remote app I chose (there seem to be a lot of options), so I need to try some others. In the meantime I just use the 5 second delay shutter to take out the jitter from my finger.
One other thing I'm curious about with your shot - what focal length were you shooting with? It looks like it might be fairly high.

Oh sweet. I've been eyeing this exact model, especially for video. For taking pictures of static subjects, the tripod + remote trick helps a lot with lighting because you can take some very long exposure shots that will look good without the need for very bright professional lighting.

Thank you! I say why not if you have the gear. I spy a nice little Sony camera on your desk so no excuse. 😛
A tripod and a remote make a huge difference for picture quality. I think Sony might have a remote app. I keep a brush nearby to clean my keyboards all the time. And last but not least, I do a little Photoshop if I missed something 😅.
It's just there to move to the centre occasionally. It was my main keyboard for a while, and I still like to use it when I feel like typing on something a bit different.
Managed to crop out the left side where the real mess is, ha. Thats a Charybdis from BastartKb which is basically their Scylla with a trackball. Trackball was a challenge to DIY but they have PCB kits that make it easier.
I think anyone considering building a dactyl manuform should consider printing one of their designs instead. They’re rounded, less angular, and open source Dactyl style keyboard designs (albeit less customizable). I still need to actually get used to typing on it though.

This is a great setup! You said it's not the neatest, but when you're using the space to make stuff (especially when it is still this clean) that's a huge plus in my book.
What's the ergo board in the background, and how do you like it? I'm constantly tempted to try something like that long term but never have.
