Massdrop x Fostex TR-X00 Ebony Headphones
Beyerdynamic T1 Gen2 / Philips Fidelio X2/27 The Beyerdynamic T1 has bass but it delivers a reference sound signature that isn’t as exciting to listen to. The Philips Fidelio X2 is better in that regard. It’s made for great listening if you don’t mind looking like Megaman. (Great soundstage too)

New Audiophile. What is the best beginner setup (headphones, dac, amp)?
There are two answers to your question. A: Straight forward, subjective answer / B: Complicated objective answer A: Start with Philips Fidelio X2/27. If you’re just getting into headphone audiophilia, this is the easiest thing in my mind to recommend. It will give you a good baseline reference on what to listen for since it exaggerates everything in a very pleasing way. Soundstage width, 360 location, stereo separation, bass...

Product Question
Does the cable transfer audio or does it only have functionality as a mic? If so I was wondering if I could put these on a different pair of headphones like the Philips SHP9500's.
