i know it's been long since your comment but i will answer it anyway. Yes we do get 20% taxes above(depending on what it is) what we're buying when it's outside Europe. People usually buy their things outside because it's only available there or because it's cheaper,so they try to prevent them and increase the country's wealth .Sometimes, if you're lucky, it goes through without you having to pay anything more. It's the customs that are getting it and not DHL. Some of them try getting someone to deliver them personally so it has less chance to be seen. That's why we want to get them inside of EU so we don't have to pay more for nothing.
