It's rare to find a ballpoint that has a good writing feel. But I have found some good rollerballs. I have a Waterman rollerball pen but I use Montblanc refills in it, which I really like. I also recently purchased a Montegrappa Fortuna rollerball and like the feel of the OEM refill. Of course, fountain pens are my favorite in terms of the feel when writing. For disposables, I really like Uniball Sigmo gel pens.

PetrosDI too love Pilot Uniball Signo roller ball disposable pens. I like the broad point on the signo. In fact I love the way this pen writes-smooth, assertive strokes. I buy the Signo ‘s and take the roller ball ink refills and insert them into other roller balls. The refills write beautifully. I discard the disposable pens and just use the refills. for your information. I don’t ever use ballpoints -can use rollerball writers instead.

russelltdogI never thought about pulling the refills out and using them in other pens. What pens have you used them in? Now I'll have to see if they'll fit my old Waterman rollerball pen.

PetrosDI have used them in MANY different brands of roller balls. I usually have to adjust the refill to fit in the new rollerball . You will be pleasantly surprised by the roller balls that can accept the Pilot uniball signo pens. I have use the replacement refills in rollerballs made by Montblanc,, many types of Jin Hao , Pilot metropolitan, etc. what you need to do is find a pen that uses a refill that resembles the the pilot uniball signo refill and the fiddle with the refill t o get it to fit. The fiddling is usually pretty easy. Good luck. Try it it’s easy.

russelltdogThanks, I will. I've found that I don't like the Waterman refills and have been using Montblancs in my Waterman, so I should be able to make it work. Thanks for the advice. I'll let you know how it turns out.

russelltdogIt works. Oddly, even though it's a little shorter than the Montblanc refill I've been using, which I had to put some tape on to jury rig, it was just too long and didn't quite fit properly. I just cut off around 1/16" from the end with an X-acto knife and it fits perfectly.

PetrosDGlad it worked. I frequently have to cut off a portion of the uniball refill to get it to fit in the barrel. Also sometimes the best nibsll tefill is too short to have the point stick out of the pen. When refill is too short , I wad up a tiny piece of paper and stuff it in the barrel before I put the uniball refill in. If the point of the refill still doesn’t stick out far enough then I put another wad of paper in until the refill sits properly in the pen. what I do is buy pilot uniball signo retractable Pens in boxes of 10 pens. You can get a 10 pen box on eBay or on the Office Depot website for $10-12 /box. I have purchased 4-5 boxes at a time when I get a good price ($10/box) to have refills in reserve for using in rollerballs that I like the pen but don’t like the refill that came with the pen. I like black signo refills that are broad or bold pointed. After I use the refill, I just discard the body of the retractable pen. I only use the refills. It is cheaper to by pilot uniball signo retractable pens in 10 pen boxes rather than buy the pens in 2-3 pen lots. Also buying refills themselves is costly. Cheaper to buy the pens in boxes of ten pens; scavenge the refills; and discard the residual plastic pens. Maybe you can figure out what to do with the empty plastic pens. If you do, please let me know. have fun with your refills.

russelltdogLoved the pictures. I cut the plastic refills with a scalpel-I’m a physician and have wcapels around my house. X acto knife sounds like a good cutting tool for the plastic body of the refills . Enjoy your rollerballs. this is the pack I have been talking, and it contains 12 PENS rather than 10 pens which I referred to above. In December Office Depot was selling these 12 packs on line for $11 plus tax for local store pickup.

russelltdogThat's a great price. I have bought mine from Costco in the past but I don't recall how much I spent. It's a great solution to use these refills in a nicer pen. I appreciate learning about this from you.

russelltdogI buy the Uniball signo 207 retractable pens with bold 1 mm points in boxes of 12 not 10. I was mistaken about quantity in the boxes.
