Is it shine through? Why no purple option?

They are not shine through. As for the purple color - blue caps in person are actually much more purple hue. I'll try to post some more photos with more accurate color representation, hope that will help :)

Simple explanation would be that from my experience on artisan keycaps - you can't make everyone happy. I've had customers complaining that their keyboards are not backlit so they wouldn't be able to use shine-through parts to the fullest. Shine-through may be an option for a Version 2.0 of the keycap :)

Judging from the pictures of the underside they are not shine though. I'm also perplexed by the lack of purple.

CtrlShiftDelAh, good point. I scrolled fast just looking to see any light. What a missed opportunity-that black circle could be transparent and let light thru. I'd buy this in a heartbeat....

CtrlShiftDelOn my screen the color is acccurate enough to the original indigo GameCube color. It's a pretty bluish purple color, and a lot of things can affect the perceived colors on your display. Your display may not be accurately color calibrated, and lighting when the photos were taken can also affect the coloring.
