Ive been looking to get my first actual mechanical keyboard for a while now, but, with that i also want a set of keycaps to go with it, i was looking to get kalih browns, does anyone know which profile keycaps fit best?
Based on the trend of wireless technology, we try to add the function of Bluetooth 5.0 to the cyberboard. But we ran into a problem: the antenna would be obscured by the aluminum alloy case.
So we need to make a hole in the front to expose the antenna, and then we cover it with a piece of non-metal material.
for those who dont know what i'm talking about: https://drop.com/talk/31759/ic-75-keyboard-cyberboard%EF%BC%88-with-color-option-form%EF%BC%89
Hey guys, I'm just a average dude who just got into premium keyboards I wondered if you could shed some light on this.
I just received the CTRL yesterday from Amazon and found that on some of key caps, directly on the typeface were some visual blemishes shining through. I first thought it was dirt or something, this couldn't happen on a premium keyboard, right?
So I pulled the cap, flipped it, and found the caps had a piece of translucent material wedged all the way inside the cap, and in those caps affected by this blemish, there seem to be a cut-out on the said translucent material, (pls see photo) of the D and F key. D is with hole, F is fine.
My first thought was perhaps these caps may have been attached to sprues during the molding phase, like model kit parts attached to their sprues, and when detaching these molds is done poorly, a piece of that translucent mat came off as well hence creating a gaping hole on some of the caps, like not using flush cutters to cut kit parts...
Ah the ancient keyboard argument what keycap material is better ABS or PBT. lets run through what makes each of these plastics special
shiny (depending on the caps)
easily smudge able (depending on the quallity)
matte or semi matte
usually cannot smudge
Both PBT and ABS can have double-shot legends applied to them and both have been used in high quality sets.
Dasher and Dancer (ABS)
So who wins? Well I sure don't know but you probably do and I want your opinions so please post which plastic is better AND what set you love most made from that plastic. :3
Or if you like POM caps that's cool too.
Whether they’re carved and painted by hand or molded from resin to tight tolerances, artisan keycaps are a unique artistic expression (and often a labor of love). We’ve seen the artisan keyap community explode recently as these mini masterpieces become more and more accessible—and we want to see what you’ve got.
Post a photo in the thread below of your favorite artisan keycap (or a few, if you really want to show off). Once we compile all the photos next week, we’ll give away a free Drop ALT Mechanical Keyboard to one lucky winner!
To kick things off, we’ll start with our favorite artisan of late: the Hot Keys Project Raiden.
Your turn. Good luck!
