Route Timeline As you plan a route from the trailhead, and set waypoints at campsites and scenic locations along your way, you can now make notes about those waypoints, and legs between those waypoints, in timeline format. This gives you a clear, sequential, visual overview of the route that you've planned. Here's what that looks like:

Route Guide Request Improvements In June, we told you about our new route guide feature. We’ve since updated the form so we can get the best information from you to provide you the most thorough route guide. Before you plan your next overnight adventure, let us provide you with a well-researched route complete with photos, trailheads, campsites, scenic locations, permit and reservation info, helpful notes, and everything you need in one tidy package. You can take a look at a sample route guide to get a sense of what we can put together for you.
Submit a custom route guide request at trails.artofthetrek.com
I’m eager to hear how these new features help make your hiking trips even better and, as always, welcome your feedback! What do you like? What don’t you like? What could we improve? Please send me a note at nicole@artofthetrek.com or schedule a chat with me at http://calendar.artofthetrek.com/nicole. Thanks! -Nicole

Probably a little over the top for me...part of the fun, is sometimes getting lost and stumbling into a great locale, view, camping spot or whatever...NOT being on a specific path or schedule...IMHO

nicole-artofthetrekI think it is important to give people 'down time' or unplanned time to explore on their own - nothing wrong in pointing them in the proper direction though, to keep them out of trouble. I DO believe I had the best (I think it was Gelato) in the world, ever, in Vienna. Lovely city !
