I’m in need a grinder for both esp and drip gold filter. I’ve used my Krups for 25 years. Now’s the time to find a grinder that I can select a grind and just have it do its thing. Any suggestion? Need electric do to wrist injuryes.

RarejemHonestly I would have to recommend the Baratza Encore. Its the cheapest I would recommend in terms of electric grinder. The problem is electric grinders that do a super job at grinding fine and consistent enough for espresso are VERY pricey. The Bratza Encore will do the job perfectly for all except the upper echelons of coffee connoisseurs.

RarejemI have had the Breville Smart Coffee grinder for a few years now. I usually make coffee in an Aeropress or French Press and it performs as good as I could hope. I cannot speak to how it would grind for espresso but it can make an extremely fine grind. Good luck.

RarejemIt depends on how much you want to spend. I'd recommend a Baratza burr grinder. The entry level Encore is excellent. I've been using the Preciso (which is essentially the same as the Virtuoso) The big difference between the Encore and the Virtuoso is power and as a result, the Encore takes roughly twice as long to grind the same amount of beans when compared to the Virtuoso. If you want to go crazy, you could go for the Mahlkonig EK 43.

RarejemBreville smart grind. Best investment I ever made. It works well for drip, pour over, French press, and espresso. Grind size is very consistent.

RarejemProbably the Baratza Vario. I will say though, if you switch between the two a lot it's tedious to have one grinder for both jobs.

RarejemI recommend Baratza for the quality and exceptional customer service. Find one in your price range and you don't regret it. Great value for the dollar.
