There are some studies that say that darker roasts are easier on the stomach than lighter roasts, and given that you wake up most likely with an empty stomach, I'd personally go with a medium or dark roast bean.
With that said, one of my favorite blends that you can actually order online is from Philz Coffee, here in the Bay Area. It's called Philtered Soul, is a medium roast, has a nice rich flavor without being overbearing and has hints of spice and almost a chocolate flavor to it. I can, and do, drink that either black or with some milk in it and it's delicious. No need for any sweetener in my opinion. It's def one of my favorites. Here's the link to what I'm talking about:
