Anyone have an idea on how complex the pitch would be on a platform in a backcountry site? This vs free standing.

I've used my X-Mid on a hike up to Elfin Lakes, BC and got it setup on the platform just fine. I would recommend at least 6ft of cord for each of the 4 corners of the tent. I use 2mm cord with reflective woven into it. https://www.mec.ca/en/product/5028-462/Reflective-2mm-Guyline-Cord I did use some rocks to hold the cord down, otherwise the walls kinda float up... Which might be really nice if it you wanted more ventilation.

A little trickier but totally doable. I was looking for a picture of when I did this but couldn’t find it. Basically you have to guy out your stake points but other than that is is pretty much the same. I would get used to doing a normal pitch a bunch first and then you will have a natural feel for how to tension the stake points.
