Seiko Prospex-SSC618 Chronograph (solar quartz) vs OceanX Shark Master-V (VSMS512) with a (NH36) movement. I’m almost set on one of them but I would like to see what other people would choose.

Willing to bet you already went for the Shark Master, but I like the Seiko and have ever since the first version of the solar chronograph came out. I think they're on the third version by now and the great color combinations just keep coming. Random Rob has a nice walk-around of this exact model and I was pleased to see how good it actually looks on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKoQhn4jcBY I think all the colors look a little more "Diver" on the silicone straps but I know you're not a fan of them--which is another reason I suspect you went for the Shark Master with the matching Rose Gold bracelet. That said, don't be surprised if you see one color or another of the Seiko on my wrist in the future ;- )

I actually went with the Seiko, just waiting for it to arrive! I can put together something like the Sharkmaster without the matching rose gold bracelet a bit later. I had to add a chronograph to my collection, also I sold my solar tuna and I figured why not replace it with another solar quartz.

I would get the OceanX. Snowflake hands look awesome. Black is more versatile though. But I think they both look great!

I think it really comes down to the strap here. With the Seiko, you get a very sporty look with the rubber band. With the OceanX, you get a classier, dressier style on the rose gold bracelet. Personally, I would go for the OceanX (I'm not a big fan or rubber straps). It's also automatic, which, I think, is a lot more charming and endearing in the long run. I actually enjoy winding my autos when I haven't worn them in a few days.
