I wish crypto currency would die, it has caused so many problems with the market and i dont like paying 1,200 dollars for a 700 dollar card. Also Crypto mining doesn't go towards anything its just running equations. Now if it was for solving complex math equations it would be different but it aint like that....

TriggerMokeIt wont though, the work goes towards confirming transactions on whatever network you're running hash on. It's here to stay, though when Ether finally goes towards Proof of Stake (based on how much you hold rather than network confirmation) we may see a dip in GPU prices as that's the top GPU mined currency at this time (flips periodically)

TriggerMokeIt is exactly solving complex math equations, cryptocurrency is the future vs fiat scam currency. So you should be thankful for all of us who are powering the future while you are trying to waste your life playing games. Go play games with less FPS or cough up more fiat scam currency, graphics cards are cheap for us miners as 1 bitcoin buys 10-30 cards depending on the model!

Jimster480eh I'm not sure that's the right attitude to take... to be honest the dedicated PC gamers who have GPUs lying around could have made more than the difference in price just running the cards they already have. I'm not a miner, but I do run my cards when they are not in use. If someone would sell me 10@MSRP I'd still mine on them or resell them for whatever the market is paying... this is how economics works... GPUs aren't just for gaming, if 3d printing gets mainstream you'll see people needing more for that. #$%# those 3D printing nerds right?! Video Encoding ~ Not my GPU!

SlobloYes its partially true, but it depends because alot of older model cards are not at all profitable to mine. This is partially why the newer cards are the most in demand because computations/watt is king when it comes to mining.

Jimster480Where is the solving of the equations going towards. My point was the equations are not doing anything innovative for anyone in the math or science field. Yes they are complex but do they serve any use to any innovation probably not, if i am wrong then prove it. Also I don't waste my life playing games i am currently working on learning a new language and studying Physics and Chemistry. I also do work that involves heavy processor and graphics card loads so getting a upgrade would be nice, yes i do have a job but i don't feel like paying, in some cases, 2x the amount of MSRP for a graphics card. The money could be better spent else where.
Also "Scam currency" are you referring to real currency like USD or Euro?? the USA doesn't even recognize crypto currency as a real currency.

Jimster480Wow look at you up on your pedestal "miner". Your so much better than us because you crypto mine. If you actually mined you wouldn't have bitcoin because it's a flooded currency. I doubt you even have a bitcoin. Get your head out of your ass and realize if your gunna be a wannabe, at least know your shit.

Headless_GrillWhat? Flooded currency? You have to be retarded for real... No i dont mine bitcoin directly but understand that the costs of graphics cards werent due as much to miners as they were due to companies inflating the prices to make as much money as possible off the market. people like me didn't even buy tons of cards because they don't really make money. But I've mined for years on the cards I have. most of the market is filled with idiots anyway who don't need new cards or who are caught up in marketing.
