yes, for the life of me I don't know why more knifemakers don't go for those continuities in patterns between the open knife blade and the handle. I like to see it both at the macro scale with large design features, like blade apertures echoing features on the handle, and at the micro scale like that stan wilson piece with the seamless patterns. I sort of expect it at the macroscale -- whenever I see an open knife where the lines don't flow well from handle to blade, I think the designer was lazy. Matching waving mokume and damascus? That's impressive, I understand that the knifemaker moved heaven and earth to get that just so, so for me seeing it is less of an 'of course that's how it's supposed to be' and more of a 'coooooool'
