This is very hard to plan out for the masdrop management.
PC enthusiasts are very specific on what their individual needs are. And also, you are not going to save much on very sought after parts. take for example a i7 6700k. the best you will see is hovering around $290~$300. This is readily available on ebay or microcenter. how much do you think this cpu can be sold on massdrop? i don't see it very far from $300. GTX 1080 another perfect example, you are not going to save much on these right now unless you are buying from overseas (at which point shipping kills you).
So the best values will be like usb sticks, usb cables, some mid range monitors etc.
You ain't ever goign to see a drop for the latest tech at a discount. i'm currently on the market for a nvme SSD with at least 500gb. most people will think i'm crazy to spend $400 on a 500gb drive. but this is what pc enthusiasts are all about. just make it fast for the fuck of it.
NYalexGreat points. Definitely won't see the massive savings on a lot of parts that we see in other communities. I have seem some really good deals on monitors here from time to time.
I think it is important to remember the Community here (as a whole) for each individual community is comprised of hardcore enthusiasts and casual users at the same time. I think this is a great thing honestly. I'm huge into the keyboard community, and most drops don't interest me at all as far as budget keyboards go, but occasionally they have a great keycap set or Topre board that is really exciting. But this lets me help out the people that have questions and are new to the community or hobby aspect of keyboards.
In the same vein I know just about nothing about EDC, but have really wanted to invest in some good lasting stuff and the community here has really been helpful and a good resource for me. I'm sure the stuff I bought wasn't the best in the world, but it's got me interested further in the community.
Long point being, I think having enthusiast grade stuff and more "generic" stuff for this hypothetical PC community would be great, and be needed to survive.

livingspeedbumptrust me, i wish we could have a PC enthusiast or Car enthusiast community in here.
but realistically, i don't see it happening sadly.
i'm a lead buyer in my company, so procuring hard to get shit is my job, but it doesn't end at just getting the stuff. It ends at successfuly selling it all and gaining returning customers. with the advent of the internet and sites like amazon, newegg, i doubt the buyers at massdrop can get any discounts over amazon, newegg and ship it on a reasonable timetable.
maybe if they start with these very sought after by everyone items:
logitech g502 = amazon, walmart, bestbuy do occasional sales on these. i think $39.99 is a sweet spot to sell over 1000 of these easily. Chances of massdrop being able to offer this mouse at $39.99? next to impossible.
Sennheiser hd598 ($99 @ amazon black friday). i think somewhere in the ballpark of 99~110. realistically? probably over $150 if offered @ massdrop.
samsung evo 850 ssd 500gb = considering newegg sells them for $120 from time to time..................nope ain't going to happen
remember, that massdrop needs to be cheaper than either newegg or amazon since their shipping wait time is exponentially longer than those 2.
i'm not trying to shut down this idea, i will support it with my wallet.
However i just don't see it happening without all the cry baby live in their mama's basement bargain seekers calling foul on massdrop on every post.
NYalexThese are all very valid points. Obviously they won't make a ton of money on a lot of parts, but the stuff they do drop here does tend to sell.
Starting a community up, even with just the same items they seem to always have dropping in tech and keyboards, and giving way to more discussion based around PC builds would be a really cool place to start and test the waters I think.
