Any tips for mitigating claustrophobia when I'm the person with her head under the lower side? My daughter and I recently took the 2P X-mid out for our first trip in it together. I mostly loved it, but I found myself flipping around so that we were sleeping head-to-toe because I wanted my face under one of the peaks. Fine by me, but my daughter much prefers the togetherness of lying with our heads in the same direction....and, of course she has the same preference for being on the tent pole/peak side! How might I troubleshoot that sensation?

As you mention, when two people are laying the same way the offset ridgeline + diagonal floor means that one person has a peak closer to their head end (so they get a steeper head wall but a more inward sloped foot wall), and vice versa (i.e. the other person more inward slope at their head end but a more vertical footwall). Two suggestions here are: 1) It works best to have both sleepers positioned against their steeper wall, so the lower end is minimally occupied and mostly serves as gear storage. To explain, the person with a steeper headwall will slide up against that wall to minimize how much they occupy the lower foot end (they might store gear here), while the other person with the steeper footwall (on the left below) will slide down to minimize how much their head occupies the lower head corner (they might store some gear there). When both sleepers do this, they minimize use of those lower corners, plus they end up more side by side, like this:

2) That works pretty well if neither sleeper is tall. If you do have one tall person, then it's best to have that person on the side of the tent where their feet will be in the lower corner (rather than their head). So in the image above, they'd be on the right. If both people are fairly tall, then one of them will unavoidably have their head in the lower corner unless they flip around.

dandurstonThanks Dan. We're only 5'7" + 10 years old, so we've got plenty of extra length/positioning to work with here. Next time I'll try putting her on the slope-y side and if we both move our feet as far against the footwall as possible we'll prolly be face-to-face with a fair amount of headroom.
