So they call this community Everyday Carry, and one slightly funny thing about this sobriquet is most of us aren't coming here for things we're going to actually carry every day - in fact if you come to EDC, the chances are excellent that you already own one of whatever you come here to look at or buy. Knives, pens, flashlights, timepieces, multitools, tops, doohickeys, whatever it is, you like them so much you didn't need to stop with buying one of them.
Drop knows this of course: they're not only selling you the items, they're selling things like the Valet which are specifically aimed at folks who possess a surfeit of EDC gear and moreover like to mix it up, carrying this one day and that the next as opposed to the exact same loadout every day they roll. Some people find that one item that's just right for them and they stick with it, which means they aren't shopping for another: Drop is selling to the group of people who either aspire to find such an item but haven't, or else...
I don't hate them but I don't need them. I don't have everyday carry in my communities so I'm not sure what's triggering all the offers. I see over a dozen preferences which perhaps indirectly trigger them.
On another note I have interest in cooking and kitchen knives but sadly they appear bound to folding pocket knives despite the obvious differences in use.
I try to keep it pretty simple so in addition to the necessities like wallet and keys, I typically have a flashlight and either a knife or multitool on me at all times. Can't count the number of times those two items have come in handy for myself and those around me.
Today is the Jetbeam EC-R26 (purchased right here on Dop) and a Boker Titan. Today's watch choice is the Invicta Pro Diver and I usually have a guitar pick or two in the wallet. You never know when an impromptu jam session will break out... :)
