Speaking of Hamiltons... I miss not having a Day/Date complication on any watch, but I allow in this case, those would completely kill the perfect, no bullshit dial layout of this watch. On the plus side, I never have to worry about AM or PM when I set it ;- )

Thanks, I gotta say it's been hard to find straps for a 7 1/2" wrist

aluxnahual Ever explored straps on Etsy? Lots of custom work there.

Eureka! As a huge Interstellar fan and a fan of Christopher Nolan movies, when I saw this watch on Murph, I fell in love right away. The cathedral hands are exquisitely done. I also love the fact that the seconds hand has the word "Eureka" printed on it in Morse code; a nod to the scene in the movie when Murph figures out the message sent to her from her father from another dimension. I'm a huge fan of space and Interstellar is probably my favorite space movie. It is also worth noting the Hamilton "Coop", worn by Matthew McConaughey. Absolutely gorgeous day/date with remarkable arabic numeral indices that appear to be battery powered under the right light. I love the symmetry of the the day and date at the 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock.

I've said it before, it's a beautifully designed and executed watch. You're 100% right about the date window, the addition of which would have destroyed the elegance of the watch. In this model, the small seconds sub dial is well integrated and sized, but the date window spoils the look.

My dementia has not reached the point where I don't know what day of the week it is. Please let me know (gently) if I start posting TGIF on Wednesdays.

mclose Waking up without knowing what day it is requires some planning the evening beforehand. Takes a little practice too, but eventually one gets the hang of it...

AirHorn_Bandito Thanks—I’m sure it has a proper name but it’s best known as the “Murph” watch from the film: “Interstellar.” Actually, here's the link to Hamilton's page for it: https://www.hamiltonwatch.com/en-int/h70605731-khaki-field-murph-auto.html

ED61 Thanks, I can’t argue with you there! You know, when I saw it in the film I wanted one right away. Then I read it was only a prop, not real! Man I was bummed. Then what, a year later—they did release it after all. And then I found one on sale! I’m a sucker for a watch story with a happy ending ;- )
