I've noticed that Massdrop is using what look like their own models in a lot of the product descriptions and I thought this might be a really easy way to help expand the community a bit. I had a moment where I was looking at something thinking "I'll bet that would look good against a dark skin tone." Perhaps I've missed it, but I think there's only been one darker skin toned model so far. I did a cursory search and this seems to be true across the Men's Style, Ultralight, and Everyday Carry communities.
EDIT: Please don't think of the people in the poll as being "ranked" - just examples.
Dr.McCoyHahah models is a pretty liberal term. Usually it's just who our photographer see's first or whoever fits into whatever size was sent to us as a sample. That said, I agree we should try to get some diversity in there. It just so happens that we typically receive size Medium clothes, and size 9.5 shoes which fit me or one other person so we tend to get chosen a lot.
Anyway, I appreciate the sentiment and understand where you're coming from, but I'm going to close this down. If you're browsing around and see this pop up on your feed, it can be misconstrued and I don't want people to turn this into something it isn't. I know the intentions are good, but it just looks bad ranking people based on skin tone.
I will however try to get more of this beautiful man up on the site
