I know with apple products the margin for a retail store is incredibly small, so I didn't even bother putting it in the voting. I'm not sure if this is the case with other manufacturers though...

MrDandyManI didn't know Apple products had an incredibly small margin unless you mean their tablets (which I'm unsure about, too). I know their phones particularly have a high profit margin.
As for other tablets, the Nexus 7 is reportedly selling almost at cost, that's why it is so inexpensive already. I am not sure how true that is, but I feel like a Massdrop for the Nexus 7 wouldn't help, especially now that there are so many sales for it.
