I recently decided to try adding screw-in stabs to my Shift V2. As this was my first time adding screw-ins, it took me about 45 minutes to get them on the PCB. The next hour was then spent unsuccessfully trying to get the PCB to sit nicely in the top of the case. I started unscrewing some of the stabs, trying to figure out which one was the problem. I did also manage to figure out that it's best practice to have the screws a little loose when you go to pop the PCB in the case. But that only worked for four of the five stabs. The fifth stab, the Num Enter stab, would sit properly. Once I got it narrowed down to that stab, I started looking at the case itself. That's when I found the problem. There is a little post that interferes with the screw-in stab's screw (pictures included; you can see the damage from the screw being mashed into the post). I assume this is a carryover from the V1 case, for which the included PCB did not have holes for board mounted stabs.
So now the questions:...
Recommendation needed for better locator (F & J) keys for Cherry MX OEM Profile keyboard
I keep losing the location of keys on new DAS 4 Pro Keyboard. i.e. My hands can't tell if they have shifted left or right a key. The keyboard has Cherry MX Brown OEM profile 104 keys. I'm looking for new keycaps to help my fingers better locate the F & J keys.
I've been a touch typist for decades (going back to the IBM Selectric) but have been using MS Ergonomic 4000 keyboards (no longer available) since the 90s. The stretched G & H keys on that keyboard likely contribute to my having some difficulty getting used to a standard layout.
I'm looking for either a more pronounced "bump" on the locator keys or I've heard about keys that are more spherical and the F & J keys are a deeper depression (MT3?). I've found that a touch typist position with more vertical fingers completely missing the bump on my DAS keyboard F & J keys.
How do the different profiles change the keyboard. i.e. Can I use a few MT3 keys with my OEM keys?
I have all black keys now, and am not looking to go...
Is there a case that can work for my wired rk61? I been looking for a case that can fit it and I can’t seem to find one. My rk61 has 4 screws and the screws are on the back of the case. I’m looking for an aluminum case and was wondering if drop has one? If there is a custom kind I can get that would be great. I know there is the rk61 pro but I ain’t gonna buy it since it’s like buying a whole new keyboard. If anyone can lmk if their is a aluminum case that can work for my keyboard that would be great!
Drop CTRL double "t" char and turning off after 3 yrs
Hi all,
I bought a Drop CTRL in 2021. I liked that it was a well-rounded mechanical keyboard that "just worked" without having to do a bunch of customization (I just want a bulletproof keyboard that feels and looks good). It has been a fantastic keyboard, I especially like how heavy it is and the key weight is perfect for me.
However, in the last 8mo it has started double inputting the "t" key and now it randomly will stop inputting anything (but the lights stay on) or it turns off completely (no lights, no input). I normally plug it into a powered hub but I tried plugging it directly into my computer to see if the problem persists and it does.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this or where to start diagnosing?
I type all day long so I don't have a lot of ability for down time.
Hello. Is there a way to get the DROP + THE LORD OF THE RINGS™ BLACK SPEECH KEYBOARD with only the HARDCORE BASE KIT keys? Without the English letters on it. I really want one but it would be awesome if it came with the hardcore kit installed. Thanks in advance!
I ordered some Holy Panda X switches, and I fell in love with them. They are a joy to type on. There's just one problem. The place that I use my keyboard to type the most is obviously at work, which is a problem if I want to use the Holy Panda X in the office around a whole bunch of people. I really don't want to torture my coworkers with the clack of these switches. I'd rather they still liked me. The good news is that, for me, the actuation of the Holy Panda X is the best part. I could take or leave the sound it makes; even if it is fantastic.
Which leads me to my conundrum: is there another "silent" switch that feels similar to the Holy Panda X? Is there a piece I can remove from the Holy Panda X that would allow me to make them silent? Or am I going to have to wait and see if Drop will drop a Silent Holy Panda X for the in-office mech community?
is there any promo codes right now that work with the STACK OVERFLOW THE KEY V2 MACROPAD?

*Help* Screw in stabilizers not fitting in Dropshift V2 keyboard
I'm trying to build a mechanical keyboard with screw in stabilizers, I've build some mechanical keyboards with click-in stabilizers, never with screw in.
Somehow one of the pins of the metal top-part collides with the screw in stabilizer of the numpad "enter key". I already tried grinding of a bit of the pin that collides with the stabilizer, but unfortunately I can't make it fit/close properly.
You can see that the pin of the toppart leaves a mark on the bottompart of the stabilizer, see picture 2.
What am I missing?
Using Durock V2 in a Dropshift fullsize V2.
See pictures below, thanks in advance!
HELP PLEASE! I put noise insulation in the keyboard and after that it stopped working, the only sign of life is 5 blinks of orange light.can do something about it? model:DROP ALTv1
Want to build a Clicky Mech Keyboard. Where to begin?
Hello all. Am brand new to the idea of building my own keyboard. Have not a clue where to begin this process. I am a Sim Game enthusiast. American Truck Sim, DCS Flight Sim and goes from there. Need some real help on where to start for making my own Full Size, Clickey Mechanical KB. I want each key to have its own backlighting. Are there keys that are better than others for this? Is there a great spot on site for a person who has never even taken a keyboard apart? Let alone fixed or built one? I would like it to fit my theme of Red and Black.
Yet maybe have the option of changing things up a bit. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you all kindly,
Durazell
Does the ALT v2 PCBA support USB-C e-marked cables?
Currently my ALT v1 does not work with e-marked USB-C cables. I was wondering if the v2 PCBA does support these types of cables (thunderbolt 4 cable for example)?
I saw the online configurator that lets you do this on the Shift V1, where it spits out a compiled firmware file to flash.
The V2 doesn't seem to have this function in the Windows configurator, though. I can't imagine the answer here is "you're going to have to manually write the hex for every key in QMK, compile it, and flash that".
ALT V2 not detected with Drop Keyboard Configurator
Hi,
This is my first non-mac keyboard. I was under the impression that this would work out of box with with mac desktop however I am having issues getting the ALT V2 detected with the keyboard configurator software. The keyboard is plugged in and powered on. Apologies if this is very basic or if I have used incorrect language describing my issue, I don't have experience with this. Thank you
