SailinsergeDrop ale fell through - purchased direct from manufacturer $99.
Will be returning.
-Arrived damaged with a small dent in the cap.
-Threading is too fine and difficult to start, must thread backwards first several times - not a hard wearing long lasting thread, rarely a smooth close on first attempt.
-Anodizing is from two seperate batches, colors are noticeably different.
-Feels very light and thin.
I was expecting a tank that would last a lifetime.
No value here in my opinion.
Because it starts life as a single piece of alumunium, and is machined to what you see. if you read, so is starts as a much larger chunck of metal and a lot of waste occurs, of course now days most shops collect their shavings and recycle them as much as possible but they get pennies on the dollor for what the metal is worth due to the lubricants and solvants that are the shavings. so the time to do the machining, and the waste is built into the price. CNC machining is not cheap these days, even a monkey can run a CNC after a few days of instruction, but the opperators make a LOT of money and that is also built into that price. if this was stamped formed then it would be MUCH cheaper, becasue there would be MUCH less waste, and the machine can be fed by convery belt and not by hand like the CMC machine that is hand fed a single block of metal for each item.
