Finally got the chance to listen to these cans in a studio setting and they are perfect... They are replacing the smaller AKG k121 that I got a few years replacing my gray Sony MDR V700 that always break at the hinge.... Those V700's had tremendous output from pro quality mixers. They were great for tracking drums or driving over the din of live music on stage or at the desk. But not so good for mixing and mastering compared to the M220.. The semi open design makes them blend so well when the music is also playing through the monitors. That was a nice surprise... Straight out of the box they nearly perfectly matched the sound of my studio monitors. Right now these headphones are so far the best ones yet for professional work... So far the fist mix session with them has the first version accepted and signed off.. They already paid for themselves twice. The mix fee and the time saved remixing different versions already covered the costs on the first session.. If your making music or mixing for clients grab a set.. For the price you can't go wrong...
