Earnest inquiry: Why would one ever opt for a slip joint over something with a locking mechanism? I've never understood foregoing (what in my mind is) a safety feature.

WutangClanLots of countries have knife laws that limit blade length, lock mechanism and/or deployment method. Also, slipjoints are really nice to keep in your pocket when wearing dress clothes. Normaly they don't have a pocket clip to keep the knife as clean as possible. IMO, this knife shouldn't have a pocket clip. Hope this helps ;)

StitchjonesI came to say something similar. Also, though this knife appears tactical/tacticool, many slip joints are not aggressive looking and therefore better in many social situations.
I own and carry locking blades, but as an office drone who goes camping and backpacking, my trusty Swiss Army Knife will do all the cutting I need.

WutangClanWell, there are some countries - like my native Germany - that forbid carrying knives that lock and can be opened with just one hand.
