An update:
After a couple weeks of use, the tarnish got worse, so I claimed warranty and they got me a new kettle in about a week. That kettle worked fine as well, but I found a spot of rust inside the part of the neck closest to the body. I claimed warranty once again, and my kettle arrived today. All in all, customer service is good, but this specific kettle rusts too easily and too difficult/impossible to clean that there's no point to buy this item.
2/5 for customer service, would not buy again.
Here's a quick look at my first week with the gooseneck kettle:
1. Boils quickly and accurately. 2. It retains heat pretty well. 3. Pour control is incredible! 4. Tarnishes rather easily. On the bottom, there are spots that appear every morning, but a quick wipe gets rid of them. Also, near the hole that connects the spout to the body, there is a tarnish that looks sort of rainbow colored, similar to an oil spill; this does not wipe away.
So far, I don't have any complaints, but I'm still pretty wary about the rust and tarnish claims by other users. Take pictures of your bar codes and order information in case y'all need to claim warranty! [img:20140807_091453.rod.jpg] [img:20140807_091508.qaa.jpg]
