djwurmI'm a big fan of WE Knife, but AFAIK the only models you can get for $100 are the 700 series, which also have liner locks, D2 steel, and G-10 handles. Design is, of course, a matter of personal preference and user application; for some people, a smaller modified wharncliffe is one they will EDC, but a large tanto is not. Then there's the whole China vs. USA thing, which I don't subscribe to but is a big deal for some people. I don't think that you're wrong, per se, just pointing out it may not be quite so apples-to-apples for everyone.

DrenWhen you buy higher end products you don't pay as much for materials you pay for the craftsmanship and quality. For example a person doesn't buy a Todd Begg Bodega because it has n690 steel, which isn't the best the best on the market, he will buy it because it's hand made and not everyone can get one. If you don't agree with a pricing of a knife then don't buy it because there will be someone who will buy it, especially on a site like this where it is at the lowest price that it will probably be sold for.

Spidey12341Sure I agree... Quality and craftsmanship aside though if I happen to like a design I may buy it even if the cost is high for the materials involved. In this case I don't particularly care for the look and am judging it based on another criteria that's all. Just one man's opinion.

djwurmIf it hits the $129 mark for the Brous name it is a fair price I am not saying it is truly worth it but that something coming from Brous is expected to cost more than WE or similar companies.

djwurmThe price mostly comes from manufacturing rather than material costs - for instance, assuming it has the same build as my aluminum one, it's worth noting that the liners are skeletonized and nested, which makes it lighter and thinner but requires more machining than standard sandwich construction. Adding on production costs of USA manufacturing, it's actually pretty reasonable for the build quality.

DrenI agree with you and I am also the same the price is a bigger factor if the knife doesn't look as appealing to a person but if you were getting this same knife with titanium handles and s30v or better steel at this price I would still probably end up buying it. In this case I just don't want this knife the handle just looks too over done for me.
