the crown is push/pull...the movement is seiko NH35, it is 100 meters water resistant. for the price and look definitely not bad. but if you think this is an authentic russian watch with a seiko movement in it, it's not. the actual russian divers have screw down crown, 200m water resistance and an authentic russian movement that goes back to the soviet era. while i like the look of this, it is totally inauthentic for what it presents itself as. that is probably why all the above info is not listed.

johnnyjohnnyWell said. I like the look of the 03 variant, but "under the hood" this thing is dubious at best. Pass...

DanTreviewi would explain that while the NH35 seiko movement is a wonderful movemen and as good or better than the russian auto movements that would be put in a fully 'legit' russian watch...i would agree in your choice of the word 'dubious' in the sense that this is a full on retro watch...so to put a japanese movement in it destroys any sense of the heritage being touted. most people may enjoy the very cool styling but ironically those of us who appreciate what this homage watch stands for would never get it for this reason. REAL russian auto watches made with the same dials and cases used by the soviets with authentic period russian movements and screwdown crowns with 200m water resistance are on ebay and the net brand new for about the same price. admittedly this piece has cool retro design and cccp plastered all over it like a chic label...but the authenticity of having a russian movement in it...which may have even lowered production cost...is absent.

johnnyjohnnyPeriod Soviet watches were not wrist watches unless they were a military reward. Anything from use was pocket but it was common practice to solder loops on and hand make a strap. This is how the watches circa 32-58 are all aranged. CCCP=SSSR~USSR divers watches made by Vostok are nice though, especially the anti magnetism feature

SDanteNot sure that is accurate? I used to have a Soviet ‘submariner’ watch that was decent but certainly not anything I’d consider award worthy? Lugs were integrated in the case. But hey, maybe they rewarded not dying in your sub with a crudely made watch!

CalaverasgrandeYet converted examples exist in abundance. There are many models, including some integrated lugs that were intended as wristwatches.
