You get a dac to create a solid foundation for your audio. I purchased this on the previous drop and upon getting it, it did work with my phone at all, and even when used with my desktop, it actually noticeably increased the noise floor compared to even my onboard audio. Yes, everything is plugged in right and the universal driver was downloaded.
All in all, not satisfied. Sorry
The noise level of DACport Slim is below audibility in most cases, so your experience is highly unusual. Could you give us the model of your mother board and headphones? What Windows version and driver version did you use?
I'm using the Asus Maximus Hero IV motherboard on Shure SE215's, Audio Technica ATH M50's, and Logitech X-230 desktop speakers, all on 64bit Windows 10 ceudusb-7.4.18 driver.
Just emailed you. I think it's a firmware issue. Updating should help. Everyone else seems to be ok with that now.
