I have a more personally minded question - I'll be using the JDS Labs ODAC along with these speakers. What else do I need?

SlowcountryI purchased a Mayflower ODAC with RCA connections and that would only need 2 RCA splitter but since the JDS ones only has 3.5mm, you are going to need 2 RCA splitters and a 3.5mm to RCA adapter. Monoprice should have everything you need.

SlowcountryYou need an amplifier, without it the speakers won't work.

NannerBeansThanks, I picked up the JDS Labs ODAC with the RCA input included. So basically I'm good to go with just these speakers and the ODAC? Do I need an amplifier or subwoofer to complete this setup?

SlowcountryThese speakers do not have internal power, they are pass through. You will need an integrated amplifier to run them.

SlowcountryUmm... you need a [speaker] amp. The ODAC is just a Digital-to-Analog-Converter (DAC).

csxwittyThank you, I will look into this. Would you have an example to recommend?

SlowcountryI'd guess any decent receiver/amp will do.

SlowcountryI'm not the best person to ask, but you can find out a lot online. I purchased the NAD Electronics D 3020 Hybrid Digital Amplifier with aptX Bluetooth off Amazon, but this is an expensive option. I'm sure others on here are more tech savey than I and will be able to steer you down the right path.

SlowcountryAh yes they are right. Sorry I mistakenly read the ODAC as the O2 amp. I bought the amp not the DAC. You can get a Lepai amp with a 3.5mm output and use the splitters I mentioned if the O2 amp is too costly for you.
