Is the RGB element included in switches like these? Like, the actual LEDs? Or does that come from another discrete component on your PCB.

it comes from the leds on your keyboard. so if you have the drop or glorious boards or something like that then the light can shine through these easily

If my keyboard is not hot swappable, will I need to do some soldering?

Yes. Lucky for you, switches are probably the easiest thing you'll need to solder in this hobby.

they are. if anything you might have to clip the 2 plastic posts on the sides to make them fit, but thats it. also the pictures show that theyre 3 pin, so you should be able to just plug and play
