I don't know about this front flipper thing. Do I want my flipper in front? Maybe it's easier to get to that way. And another thing, the blade is under 3". It's a great shape, but quite diminutive for my EDC likes. It's good to have a bigger blade.

14themoney3" is a legal limit many places. MANY people don't want anything bigger. 3" is plenty for 99.9% of people's everyday needs.

14themoneyGenuinely curious what your "every day" is like, where anything under 3" could be called "quite diminutive"? And not being a dick, seriously asking. Most days I could get by with half that, as long as it's sharp

KavikI have quite a few in the rotation. Today, I had a Blackhawk Perfect Storm (Tanto), Leatherman Skeletool, Kershaw Decibel, Kershaw Fatback, and a Bestech Warwolf in my pockets. (It looks like I didn't clear the old ones out when I picked up the new ones. There is always a Spyderco Ladybug on my key ring. The CS Recon-1 finds a lot of pocket time, as does the Spydie PM2. The Boker Kalashnikov and the Kershaw Launch (3 & 5) get there. I have several Leeks. If I hadn't lost the CF one, that would be carried a lot. My Kizer Begleiter had been in my pocket quite a bit lately. The smaller ones that get carried are the Kershaw Cryo and the Steel Will Cutjack mini. I still work most days, so these are actually used as tools. I did some serious damage to a CS Counterpoint shaving a fiber cement board that was too long. (I was up on a steep roof and didn't want to climb down.) If I know that I am going to be injuring a knife, then I will put one of my Schrades in my pocket. I do like larger knives, but the choice of quite diminutive was very poor on my part. I was railing against the advertised knife, more than smaller knives in general. I have several Kershaw Shuffles, a mini Lawman (the larger ones were out of stock, then CS stopped using XHP.), and others. This is a really long winded response. I hope it has some something that was helpful in answering your question. I still think of your recommendation about the Swordfish every time that I pocket it. Thanx again!

KavikI picked up my first Civivi from WMK several weeks ago, the Naja. Good quality. It's still trying to elbow its way into the rotation. I like it.

14themoneyThat's sure a lot to carry at one time lol I know different people have different daily tasks, that's why I asked. Nowadays I'm an office worker. I open packages and letters, cut open the occasional snack, break down cardboard at home....little stuff. But even back when I was working building maintenance and warehouse type jobs, I never really NEEDED more than about 2" of a blade at time, if I'm being honest with myself. Though I did still tend towards larger knives back then, they were usually overkill now that I look back on it I do have one other civivi already, the Wyvern. It's built well enough, and performs well, but I can't get past the super light FRN handle, makes it feel like a much cheaper knife. Hoping this one, with the G10 scales, will have a better feel

KavikToday, I was trying to resurrect a cabinet before installing it in the kitchen of a rent house. Cutting away glue and deteriorating pressed board from underneath was certain easier with the length of my Griptilian. The Cutjack or RAT-1 probably would have done as well. The bottom of the shelf was 5 1/16" from the bottom of the cabinet. A shorter knife would have made this harder. My best justification for the larger knife is that I like it. The Gent in my desk has a 2 15/16" blade. It feels small, but I do take it to church sometimes.

14themoneyI get your point.....but I gotta be a dick now and say that's because it sounds like you weren't using the right tool for the job to begin with 😅 If I'm picturing what you're describing correctly, sounds like a job for chisels and cabinet scrapers Just having fun with you man, but you're right, the best AND ONLY justification you need is that you prefer it. I was just being curious about your reasoning is all 😁👍
