Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

does anyone have experience with the nfb-15? or if you've had experience with the x7 and can compare it to another dac/amp combo, i'd really like to hear your thoughts. i will be pairing one of these with the a7xx & x2 fidelio.
really tough choice as i also watch movies/listen to music a lot in addition to gaming. thanks for your input. if only massdrop had a return policy like amazon...
Edit: I also agree with Lateralus's comment. The examples you were listening to were probably cranked to the max to showcase the capabilities of the technology. It's more something that you would need to listen to yourself before making a decision. I suggest trying a software program such as Razer Surround. While the program won't be nearly as good as the X7 in terms of a DSP, it'll give you a bit of control over the surround and let you try it out in a few games.

The best settings I found for myself were surround at their their default 67% or 100% depending on the games. Crystalizer is more of a boost function IMO. I only notice the output increases, however for games like BF4 I noticed more of a crisp sound and used somewhere from 60~70%.
