ares347Why WORTHLESS? Does it not work? Does it not help produce better sound than built-in audio? Does it not help with sound positioning? Does it no provide extra headphone jack in front of you, which does not require you to unplug speakers before putting in headphones, on top of having microphones and volume control knob?
I'm on the fence right now, I've been waiting for this. Help me decide.
Shinigami84There is a subset of users that swear by an external DAC / AMP. Our internal card IS a DAC / AMP so really it's a matter of preference for form factor. With a regular DAC / AMP you're at the mercy of whatever your outputting from.
In fact our cards are often times using far superior components to DACs / AMPs in the same or higher price range.
The advantage of an internal card is as follows.
1. DRASTICALLY superior quality output when compared to motherboard or USB audio.
2. Hardware processing for effects. With the ZX you get the best virtual positional audio no the market with our CMSS surround.
3. Our sound cards handle 128 channels of audio simultaneously. Mileage may vary what is being output with non hardware accelerated AMP / DAC / Software solutions. Most motherboard is 32 channels.
DigitalRonynOne small question: does it support Scout 2.0, like the recently released AE5? Because I'd love to try that feature but want that external knob, which AE5 lacks.
DigitalRonynI know it's spam at this point, but your support team lost my mouse after I paid to shop it in for service, and the promised contest has not awarded prizes. I'm currently in the position of having paid $150 for a keyboard and a broken promise.
