For the love of god, you can't charge sales tax on clothing or shoes of any type! I don't get how Drop can't figure this out.

davejustdaveActually that's not true. In most states clothing is deemed taxable. There are about 7 exceptions if my memory serves me correct. And even in the states that have deemed clothing tax exempt there are certain regulations that may or may not make the clothing taxable based off of specific criteria.

SkeedapThey specifically charge tax online for New Jersey. This site states it in the checkout. In New Jersey there’s no sales tax on clothing. It’s 2019 it’s not like we as consumers don’t understand what to expect when buying things online. This is literally the only place I’ve attempted to buy clothing/shoes online and it charges tax. I just tried it on amazon. Pants no tax. A knife. Taxed. Thanks anyway “Actually Dude” (there’s always one)

davejustdaveThey also have offices here in New Jersey so there’s even less excuse. It’s their web admins I’m sure.

davejustdaveClothing is tax exempt, but fur clothing, clothing accessories or equipment, sport or recreational equipment, or protective equipment are taxable. Protective equipment is only exempt when purchased for the daily work of the user and worn as part of a work uniform or work clothing. Notice here that it says accessories. Shoes are considered worn accessories akin to jackets. That's why they're taxed in New Jersey. A lot of the clothing sold on this site are categorized under those categories that allow them to be taxed. But since you're the legal eagle here I'll let you continue to think you're right.

SkeedapWow. Dude. You don’t have to be a legal eagle and you’re in the position of proving me wrong. I literally just put daner boots in a cart on amazon and dicks and neither estimated taxes. I honestly dont don’t get why you’d make such an ass of yourself except you know it’s the internet. Here ill talk say say it again. On this site next to the taxi there’s a thing you click and it states they charge tax for online purchases in New Jersey (you have to charge appropriate tax to the state you’re selling in or too). Which is fine. I’m used to that. On everything EXCEPT clothing and shoes. Shoes are accessories. They’re clothing. They’re kinda essential like pants and shirts. Okay? No law degree needed. I shop primarily online because of my job. But hey I’m sure you’re right random actually dude.
