roissyI know it's late, but have you tried replacing the battery?
Mine is really accurate when tested against a Fluke but I know it can get testy when the battery starts getting low.

I got it to replace my trustly Fluke that went on the blink... (granted, it has been over twenty years.)
roissyHopefully a good 9V Alkaline, from a good brand does the trick. Those carbon core aka heavy duty cells can be so unreliable.
Hopefully a simple thing makes it work good for you. Hopefully it at least matches the 20 year old Fluke.
