I inherited a lot of vinyl from a friend who retired from his DJ gig and I'm looking forward to purchasing a turntable. I used to have a pair of Technics 1200 years ago. What is the difference between an audiophile grade vs DJ turntable besides the pitch controller.?
XnightcrawlTypically modern audiophile tables have a lot less in the way of features like pitch controls, lights, USB out, and use direct drive motors. They also tend to be more rugged all around whereas most audiophile turntables are more on the delicate side. The Technics 1200 was actually designed as an audiophile table but found appeal with DJ's due to its incredible build quality and easily replaced parts. Modern DJ tables mostly take their design cues from the Technics 1200 which was discontinued for a period of time.

T.FernandezThanks!!! One of my regrets was selling my turntables in 2009.
XnightcrawlI own an SL-1210 Mk2 and SL-1100 so I'm pretty familiar with the classic Technics line.
