I bought the drawer to compliment my case, but I really like the felt top. It’s the perfect place for my remote, my controller, glasses, etc.
So instead of stacking it, I’ve left it alongside.
And that’s the way we will roll in my den.
Wayneothere are no runners ...tempted to mod it.. if i can 1/16 skids mount one each side for a smoother slide and at least with mine (when loaded) it come back in too low. If you lift it a bit on the insert it fits fine. Thinking the smallest bit of lift will allow it to line perfect.
Looks great under the cache on my dresser, and I love the option to separate. I'll probably move it to the night stand to act as a real edc drop.
I haven't had any problems others have said: bits not glued; unaligned; weak materials. I do agree with what folks have said about the puny lil tab to pull the drawer out. I can see that being way more a pain in the ass when it isn't under the full weight of a loaded EDC Cache Display.
I'll be buying another, perhaps 2 or more for stacking and gift giving.
Whoever came up with that drawer pull ought to be embarrassed-way too small for men to operate. I’ll will remove it and install my own. Otherwise it’s a nice box.
As my collection has outgrown my Valet Case, I purchased this to supplement. While the quality seems as nice as the case, the whole thing is undermined by a terrible choice of handle. I purchased it thinking that the reviews complaining about the handle were overreacting, but they’re not. The handle was a truly idiotic choice. Much too small to get an adequate grip to open the thing easily, which is one of the only things the drawer is supposed to do. They really need to rethink the handle.

Two Demerits for the Drawer Pull
So I love the Display Valet, it's my favorite thing I've purchased from Drop and I couldn't be happier. So when the drawer came out, I couldn't even find the "shut up and take my money" GIF (hard G) fast enough.
It's utility, as an addition to my valet, is great. I'm able to keep some of my EDC stuff like sharpeners and larger flashlights all together, but not out in the open. This is awesome.
What's not so awesome is the draw pull, it's just uncomfortably short which makes the drawer difficult to slide in and out. It's kind of a bummer to an otherwise great addition. If I had a suggestion, it would be to add a leather loop pull instead or just something that's easier to get those clumsy meat mittens to gain purchase on.
I did find a way to make it better though, I added some UHMW tape to the bottom of the drawer, and to upper corners in the back of the drawer. Because who doesn't have some UHMW that they got one Christmas just laying about? This made using the puny drawer pull a lot less of a factor and now I'm much happier.
I really like the valet and expected the drawer would complement it nicely. In my experience, it did not. Construction was mediocre. The storage drawer is made of similar materials as the valet, yet somehow felt more flimsy and lacked the heft that gives me confidence in the valet. The color did not quite match my valet. The tab to pull out the drawer felt cheap and awkward to use. Note that there is no lock on the drawer, which was an issue for me (I like my knives, and with a kiddo running around, this would not do). All in all, just kind of blah. Sending it back. YMMV. BTW, while it took a bit to hear back from drop about the return, they make the process incredibly easy with free return shipping. Good experience with drop, but a mediocre product.
