My buddy had his CTRL for years now as his main keyboard, and found that it was starting to show it's age. Lots of double key presses and tired look made him want to throw it out and start over. I asked him if he wouldn't mind letting me keep it minus the keycaps and he agreed. I took it apart and tested the PCB, the main issue seemed to be worn out switches on the double presses. I saw this case and decided this would be a great way to breath life into the old board. Although I have not fully built it yet (waiting on some new 3 pin switches), it is a nice looking case. I know most keyboards have gone to the gasket mount route but I still think you can make it sound satisfying.
This aluminum case is heavy and feels like it will last. Great color and the bronze look will look great with my emerald key caps. Can’t wait to complete my build.
Upgraded my normal Ctrl keyboard by moving everything into this case and I'm glad I did. Love the look of the case, and while the mounting style might be outdated, the sound profile after adding foam, is actually pretty nice. The Bronze looks great, and is different than any other case I have.
Lilac looks great with neutral+cool coloured keycaps
I got a set of warm keycaps that didn't look quite right with the Lilac board. If you can, find keys that are not warm (like cream or yellow-ish).
Grey tones work the best.
