Support for Alternative Layouts
This is a summary of how alternative layouts have been supported by kits such as Colevrak and Homing. It is not a discussion of alt layout performance and development, but if that interests you I highly recommend starting with Pascal Getreuer’s A guide to alt keyboard layouts (why, how, which one?). It’s a concise and comprehensive overview with links to some great sites that go deeper. He also has a separate Links about keyboards page. From what I can tell, the previous one (K-Type) is kind of a disappointment, so how can we be sure this one is not rubbish as well?
I find the typing generally very good. The switches are mounted with little room to wiggle, and are very rigidly mounted. The plate has minimal give, even when pressing hard on it (tested that out when mounting zeals). The stabilizers have the regular rattle, which can probably minimzed like you would with bandaid/teflon modding (which I am probably doing next week). Overall it doesn't look or feel cheap and makes a very sturdy impression. Also it's weighty enough. The foots are a disappointment, but I dont use any either.
