Booper specifically designed these keycaps and colors to make it seem like you are typing on blank alphas, hence why the alphas are somewhat difficult to read. I advise people that are interested in buying this set to understand that the alphas are SUPPOSED to be hard to read. Great quality, and the colors are perfect for my build!
In all I love this keycap set. My real only regret was not ordering the Orion kit at the same time as the Polaris kit. The Orion kit ultimately didn't make it to MOQ, but maybe one more vote would have pushed it there :x
Anyway, Lovely to have bars and novelties for a DCX set, finally.
The one drawback is that this kit did not make it to having the extra B. I know that it was announced months ago and this is why, but the kerning is fixed. I would have at least expected the B in the bars kit. I guess it's ok, though (for me), as I only ever use the left B in my Alice layout, anyway.
This may be more of a feature than a "problem", but the text is hard to read easily, especially on the mods. The text alphas are much better with a light on. I'm not actually registering this as a true complaint, but it might turn off some users.
Edit: I think the only truly negative thing I want to say about this set is that there are no R4 1U astronaut keys in the novelty kit, only 1.25U and 1.5U. This is especially poignant due to the fact that this is a brand spanking new Drop product, and the super recent flagship product - the Sense75 - has 3 1U keys on the bottom right row in lieu of 2 1.25U or 1.5U keys. It is a designer set, so some leeway can be given I suppose.
Colorway is great! but image is a little misleading
I absolutely love this colorway! my only problem is that it is not as easy to read as the images make it out to be. The colors are much darker in person, resulting in the difficulty in reading, but it's such a small part since I really just wanted to the keycaps for their color scheme!
Good quality, great packaging, not for the vision impaired
Great set of keycaps, drop's DCX line have been giving GMK a run for their money. That being said, part of the reason they're competitive is DCX is cheaper. This set is at or just below the cost of many new GMK sets and are a little harder to recommend than, say, DCX WoB etc.
Overall they're well made, packaged properly, and a unique colorway. The dark purple on dark grey/blue was a bit harder to read than I thought so maybe don't throw these on your grandparent's keyboard.
